A discussion with a legend of the Fanfiction community of Gfaqs and author of the infamous Lord of The Bra, in regards to our tale TOILETBRUSH TRIPWEED
Ascalden: the reason i mentioned the bg board before was because we used to do something called the Chronicles of Yore
Ascalden: it was just uh
Ascalden: well its like a text based rpg where everyone is simultaneously GM and player
Ascalden: or like combined storytelling i guess except everyone really only owned one character
Ascalden: so myself and another are attempting to bring back its glory days this 'summer'
Ascalden: the problem is im at a loss for a plot >_>
Ascalden: now i have my character all sorted out, he's an ancient druid.. ala a bg2 shapeshifter but hes a were polar bear instead of a werewolf personality wise it wouldnt be too far off to say he's a male version of kreia
TTripweed: As long as he doesn't want to kill the Force >.>
TTripweed: (I also prefer Jolee Bindo over Kreia as a Gray Jedi)
Ascalden: nah its more along the lines of the neutral mentor who wants the younguns to consider the ramifications of there actions, and a degree of manipulating events
Ascalden: like that whole force ripples deal
TTripweed: as
TTripweed: *ah
Ascalden: got a whole story worked out as an example involving asmodeus >_>
Ascalden: now i just need an appropiate storyline
Ascalden: the only stipulation swords has is NOT a war
TTripweed: Idea for a BBEG:
Make it a NE Bard
Ascalden: we have a message board for yore style writing and it was a lot of warstories
Ascalden: noone expects a bard villian
TTripweed: Bards = ultimate bad guys
TTripweed: You want to save a village. BBEG Bard makes *YOU* the villain instead of him!
Ascalden: hmm bard.... gives me a great idea
Ascalden: ok the stage is set: some generic high fantasy kingdom
TTripweed: While not awesome combatants, Bards make the best BBEGs you can ahve, due to their OMGWTF charisma skills to rally entire towns
Ascalden: now this bard.... rescues some kidnapped noble children
Ascalden: and convinces elderly king to give him his fair daughters hand in marriage
Ascalden: perhaps besmirching some mageling advisors authority during the xchange
Ascalden: now it turns out that this bard orchestrated the kidnappings, executing the bandits he hired to hide the truth, the arrival of the children behind him 'proves' that they were guilty
Ascalden: hmm its still a little details
Ascalden: fuzzy
Ascalden: ah
Ascalden: the heros can discover some evidence and take it to the disgraced mage
Ascalden: things do not go in the bards favour
Ascalden: but he tells his story, painting himself as the conquering hero
Ascalden: and manages to enscorcel to ebgin with just thet avern drunks but leds an uprising
Ascalden: DAMNIT
Ascalden: that leads back to war
TTripweed: depends, Bards can be very subtle. Remember Sauron in The Silmarillion?
TTripweed: spreading lies and deceit for a lot of years, infighting... then take over.
Ascalden: a bloodless coup
TTripweed: typical example of how a NE Bard would work
Ascalden: incidentally i had a half-elf knight who did that
Ascalden: god i love the lawful evil characters
TTripweed: The worst of it all?
Bards can play the Behemian Rhapsody while they conquer...
Ascalden: that is a damn good idea, the problem is a person who wants it to escalate to warfare could do so quite easily
TTripweed: Make the Bard let his people stand down, yet refuse to cooperate. salying people not defending themselves? Oohh evil
TTripweed: *slaying even
Ascalden: heh i love it
Ascalden: his followers would be fanatic
TTripweed: Paladin and you kill people? There goes your patron deity
TTripweed: Want a LOT of fun?
TTripweed: Call him Kane
Ascalden: well i need to allow LS to play his knight in shining armour character
TTripweed: If he ends up nea death make him disappear, only to resurface later with many wounds
Ascalden: thats uh soulbringer?
TTripweed: If you totally want to rip C&C make him the elader of the Brotherhood of NOD
Ascalden: oh ofc
TTripweed: or Nod actually
TTripweed: We fight for Kane! KANE LIVES!
Ascalden: nah i would prefer a semblence of originality >_>
TTripweed: well, Kane lives! has a lot going for it
Ascalden: its reminding me of the old bionic commando actually
Ascalden: ever play that one?
Ascalden: NES
TTripweed: Played it on the gameboy
Ascalden: ah didnt know it was on gameboy
Ascalden: was it the same though?
TTripweed: more or less, slightly shorter
TTripweed: and without colour
Ascalden: RESCUE SUPERJOE!
TTripweed: oh yeah, on the gameboy he was called Rad
Ascalden: man im gunna dig it out tomorrow and give spend all ay playing it now
TTripweed: hehe
Ascalden: ok superbard
Ascalden: the whole thign shall based around subterfuge then
Ascalden: direct confrontation... not really possible
Ascalden: superkane needs an instrument
TTripweed: It is, the bard is just smarter :-P
Ascalden: hmm he needs something noble i think
